Growing up oats was always featured on the breakfast menu. It was boring but filling so as soon as I moved out the house I banished oats from my breakfast menu...until now. Forget the traditional oats you grew up with, nowadays it's all about fun, fresh fruit with overnight oats. The best part is that it is super easy to make.

Ingredients

(Fills one 500ml Jar - Serves 2)

To Serve: 1 clean jar

1 Cup Oats

1/2 Cup Plain Yoghurt

1 Orange

1 Apple

1 Banana

125g Raspberries

Lemon Juice

Honey

Milk (optional)

Method:

1. Prep the oats the night before you would like to eat it. Grate the apple finely then sprinkle with a few drops of lemon juice (to prevent it from browning). In a bowl add the oats, then the apple, yoghurt and 2 tablespoons of honey (depends on desired sweetness). Mix well until combined. Cover and leave in the fridge overnight.

2. In the morning, peel the orange and banana then slice. Place the orange at the bottom of the jar. Top with a layer of the overnight oats then drizzle some honey on top. Follow with a layer of fresh raspberries packed tightly. Finish off with a layer of banana. Enjoy!

Note:

If you don't have a jar use a glass or cup. Alternatively place the oats in a bowl and use the fruit as a topping for the oats.

If you find the consistency too dry then add more yoghurt for moisture.

If you find the consistency too thick then add a dash of milk to thin it out to your satisfaction.
