I love, maybe even live, for the finer things in life (well that and stunning food). So when my mother got an invite to The Glenlivet Dinner at The Cape Grace I was literally salivating at the thought. However, life happened so I couldn't go to the event for the entire duration, but I made sure I had eyes and ears (and taste buds) there so no one had to miss a thing. I also made a last minute appearance, because somethings you have to experience for yourself.
A sophisticated crowd comprised of eclectic movers and shakers made up the guestlist. A love for whisky was not a prerequisite after all as a whisky and food pairing it was an opportunity to explore and expand one's preferences. Held in a private room at the elegant Cape Grace, one long table seated all the guests, which gave the whole event a delightful intimacy. Numerous plates of food were brought in whilst the whisky was kept flowing. 15, 18 and 21 year olds were the stars of the evenings but the delicious dishes that included duck, salmon, scallops and a host of other delicacies shone bright as well. A gorgeous event with a chic yet laidback atmosphere. Cheers to The Glenlivet or rather as the Scots say (according to Google) Sláinte!
